New to Medicare?

Medicare is the Federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older, some people under age 65 with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant). We believe that it helps to start thinking about your choices ahead of time – before you have to make decisions about Medicare. The Social Security Administration has created a useful guide that will walk you through all of the important details you need to know about Medicare. If you would like to review the different types of Medicare coverage and get a refresher on Medicare basics, you may want to take a look at the Social Security publication Medicare. (Click on the link to download or print a copy.) When you think about retirement or Medicare plan options, we want you to consider HNE Medicare Advantage for your health insurance needs. HNE Medicare Advantage offers a number of different plan options and benefits, including: |
- No referrals to in-network specialists and an extensive local network of providers*
- Additional benefits - Vision, dental, and Fitness Club/Weight Watchers®/Safety Items allowance programs*
- No deductibles*
*Limits and copayments may apply.
Remember, you can join, switch, or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan only at certain times of year. Refer to Key Enrollment Dates for details.
If you enroll in one of our Medicare Advantage HMO plans, you may go to any network provider without a referral from your primary care provider. Members enrolled in our HNE Medicare Basic (HMO), HNE Medicare Plus (HMO), and HNE Medicare Premium (HMO) plans must use HNE network providers for all routine medical care. Members enrolled in our HNE Medicare Freedom (HMO-POS) plan can choose to get routine medical care from network providers or use their Point of Service benefit to get care from non-network providers. HNE Medicare Freedom members pay more when they use non-network providers for routine medical care.
