It is HNE policy:
Decisions regarding patient care are made based upon the appropriateness of care and the services rendered. This process reflects the need to avoid underutilization of necessary services. In the event that a service is denied, the decision is based upon the appropriateness of the service within the scope of covered benefits. HNE does not offer incentives to encourage denials, nor is compensation tied to denials.
