Adult Asthma Management Program

At Health New England, we understand how difficult it can be to manage your asthma. We also know that having asthma can interfere with your full enjoyment of life. It may cause you to miss days from work or school and limit your activity. That is why Health New England has developed the Asthma Management Program.

We are very excited about this program which is designed to assist you and your doctor to meet your special needs in managing asthma. The program staff has been working with our network doctors to develop a program that will help you maintain an optimal level of health and to avoid complications related to asthma.

To participate in the program, members with asthma simply complete a survey. The purpose of the survey is to provide the Asthma Management Program Staff with the information they need to better meet your needs. Returning the completed survey will automatically enroll you in the program. HNE will then send you educational materials and a schedule of asthma education classes. Participating in the Asthma Management Program will help you to identify and control the things that trigger asthma symptoms and to better manage your medication. You will be empowered with knowledge to gain control of your asthma!

Adult Asthma Education Class

This class is a new feature that we are offering to HNE members aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with asthma. The class is free of charge and each participant may bring a guest. We are very excited about providing this class to you!

During the class, a nurse educator will speak to you about asthma management. You will learn how to manage symptoms, control asthma triggers, measure peak flow and much more! There will also be raffle prizes and free education materials. To be eligible to win a raffle prize, you must be a member of Health New England on the class date and you must be present to win.

The classes will be held at The Best Western Sovereign Hotel, 1080Riverdale St., West Springfield, Mass. from 6:30-8:30pm. We encourage you to attend and learn more about asthma management.
