WHAT IS ASTHMA?
ASTHMA makes the sides of the airways inflamed or swollen. Your airways react to asthma ‘triggers’ like smoke, dust, pollen, or other things. Your airways become smaller and you cannot get the proper amount of air into your lungs.
These episodes are usually associated with airflow obstruction that is reversible either on its own or with treatment.
The inflammation also causes an associated increase in the existing bronchial hyper responsiveness to a variety of stimuli (asthma triggers).
