In 2006, Massachusetts passed an important law commonly referred to as the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Law. The main purpose of this new law is to provide health care coverage to the uninsured residents of Massachusetts. HNE supports the law’s objective to reduce the number of uninsured Massachusetts residents.
While the law’s provisions primarily apply directly to individuals and employers, health care providers in Massachusetts will obviously be affected as well. At HNE, part of our commitment to our community includes providing useful information about a health care delivery system characterized by increasing complexity. As details of the law and its implementation unfold, we are working to develop tools and resources for individuals, employers, and providers to help provide an overview and basic understanding of the changes taking place.
A general overview of the law and how it affects individuals and employers, is available on our Web site. (http://hne.com/HNE_members/HC_reform_law.html). We will let you know of other resources as they become available.
