- The pharmacy services department is pleased to announce that information about the pharmaceutical management procedures and the HNE formulary is now available on line. Just go to (http://hne.com/HNE_pharmacy/index.html) to take a look at what’s available. This information is also available through several of the services used with the electronic prescribing tools associated with your PDA.
- As a reminder, samples are no longer accepted as first line for step therapy. If we do not see a paid claim for a step one medication (generic), coverage for the second line medication will be denied, regardless of whether the patient has been receiving samples or not. Therefore, please do NOT start HNE members with samples.
- Providers must use state supplied vaccine where available. HNE will reimburse for state supplied vaccines only if they are unavailable from the state. To be reimbursed, the provider must submit a Vaccine Medication Request Form along with the invoice. In addition, the provider is expected to provide an explanation why state supplied vaccine was not used. HNE's vaccine policy is available at hne.com (http://www.hne.com/HNE_pharmacy/Vaccines/index.html)
If you would like a paper copy of the pharmaceutical management procedures or our physician formulary, please contact the HNE Provider Operations department at 413-787-4000, ext 5000, or email us at Provideroperations@hne.com.
