Claims Reminder

As a reminder, Providers have 180 days from the date of service to file a clean claim with HNE.  If you need to submit a corrected claim, the corrected claim also needs to be submitted within 180 days of the date of service. However, if there are extenuating circumstances which delayed submission of the claim within the 180 day claim filing limit, you may submit a provider appeal for review detailing the circumstances.  Please note that you have one year from the date of service to file a provider appeal.

If you submit a corrected claim within the original 180-day claim filing limit, you do not need to submit a provider appeal.  Any corrected claim sent within the 180 day filing limit may be submitted directly to the HNE Claims Department.  Please indicate on the claim that this is a corrected claim.
